Albany Stags Press Release

Albany, NY – Sweetlax Lacrosse in conjunction with Coach Scott Marr (UAlbany Head Coach), Coach Liam Gleason (Head Coach Siena), and their staff are excited to launch the newly formed Albany Stags.

Coach Marr and Coach Gleason have been a successful Club lacrosse program for a number of years with Top Dogs; the marriage of the two programs will bring additional opportunities to area players, as well as the opportunity to partner with Sweetlax events company ML8 Events.

Scott Marr, Head Coach UAlbany and Founder

“We have always admired what Sweetlax has provided for players throughout Upstate NY; we see the partnership as an opportunity to offer players in our region the opportunity to play at the elite level of Sweetlax Upstate while maintaining the original developmental principles we originally envisioned for our boys locally. Their track record of finding the right college placement for their players speaks for itself, and we look forward to taking our teams to the next level with the partnership. Our Staff has always been impressed with the professionalism that ML8 Events bring; we’re looking forward to hosting some tournaments given our location to so many Club programs throughout the Northeast”.

Liam Gleason, Head Coach Siena College

“We’ve known the team at Sweetlax Lacrosse for some time and have a high comfort level on what they can bring to our region. We’re equally excited to partner with them on so many levels including coordination with their Box program, Roots Lacrosse. Everyone in the Club lacrosse world recognizes the Sweetlax Brand; we see our partnership as the last piece to a full year offering to all the present and future players we’re fortunate enough to assist in becoming more successful on the lacrosse field”.

Kevin Martin, Sweetlax Founder on the new partnership.

“We feel honored that Coach’s of Coach Marr and Coach Gleason’s reputation and success will be joining the Sweetlax family. Everyone who knows them and their Staff recognizes their passion for the game and for assisting players in their development. We’re looking forward to building upon the platform they presently provide and working with players from all levels of ability via the club program, events and clinics”.
